A wide range of new technologies will soon become part of online education, one expert has said, which could possibly result in more people using VoIP or a satellite broadband connection to learn new skills.
David Guralnick, president of the International E-Learning Association, said these will include virtual reality, as is seen in motion-tracking gaming devices such as Microsoft's Kinect.
Tools such as this could "easily be used" to impart knowledge, the expert claimed.
Innovators in this sector "look at the technology in terms of how we can use it to help achieve learning and performance goals" and view it as "being art as much as science", Mr Guralnick declared.
The growing use of mobile technologies and their utility at discovering locations or being operated on-the-go could also assist this industry, he continued.
This method of education is growing in popularity and may soon become commonplace, project director at Learninglight.com David Patterson recently asserted.
